KAMPALA, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Uganda will host the first ever East African Police Chiefs Organization Games.
Asan Kasingye, the Uganda police spokesperson told Xinhua on Friday that Uganda will host the inaugural competition from August 26 to 29.
Kasingye said the games are meant to help strengthen relations between the officers from different police forces.
He said the games are to be held annually with effect from this year.
Seven countries have confirmed participation, including Tanzania, Kenya, Burundi, Rwanda, Sudan, South Sudan and hosts Uganda.
The games will have disciplines like football, netball, athletics, Taekwondo, boxing and shooting using sub-machine gun riffles. Enditem
