BRASILIA, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- Senator Aecio Neves, leader of the Brazilian Social Democracy Party (PSDB), said Wednesday that his party would not leave the current ruling coalition of President Michel Temer.
Neves spoke to the press during a meeting of the PSDB leadership in Brasilia, at which he proposed that the party should hold a primary in December to pick a candidate for the 2018 presidential elections.
Neves remains the president of the PSDB although he was suspended from the Senate in May by the Supreme Court, due to allegedly having received bribes.
Never explained to the press that Temer was counting on the PSDB's support as the party holds four ministerial portfolios in Temer's cabinet.
