DAMASCUS, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- A large explosion rocked an arms depot in Syria's northern city of Aleppo on Monday, causes unknown yet, local media reported.
The blast was reported inside the Tariq Bin Ziad base in Masaken Sabil area, where an ammo depot went ablaze, Sham FM radio reported.
The causes of the blasts are yet to be known, but the report shunned aside any possible terror act.
Aleppo city was fully controlled by the Syrian army in December of last year.
The army later moved to haunt down rebels in the countryside of that key province in northern Syria.
