Egypt's bourse gains 3 billion pounds via Arab purchases

CAIRO, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices went up collectively at the start of Monday trading session amid purchase operations from Arab institutions and investment funds.

The market capital gained about EGP three billion to reach 718.4 billion pounds, MENA news agency reported on Monday.

The EGX 30 benchmark index increased by 1.14 percent to close at 13,713.61 points, MENA said.

The broader EGX 70 index of the leading small and mid-cap enterprises (SMEs) soared by 0.49 percent to stand at 718.42 points.

The all-embracing EGX 100 index rose by 0.45 percent to record 1,619.66 points.
