KIGALI, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- Preliminary results of votes count show that incumbent President of Rwanda Paul Kagame won 98.66 percent of 80 percent of votes cast at national level in the Friday's polls, National Electoral Commission of Rwanda (NEC) announced Saturday.

Central African country Rwanda went to the polls on Friday to select the new president for the next 7 years. Kagame, who is seeking re-election faced two other candidates, Frank Habineza of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda and independent candidate Philippe Mpayimana in the election.
