FLEITA, Syria, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- Lebanon's Hezbollah group praised on Wednesday that the swift battle in western Syria and the Syrian-Lebanon border area against extremist militants is a "perfect one."

The joint battle, launched by the Hezbollah and the Syrian army, is aimed to eradicate the al-Qaida-linked Nusra Front and the Islamic State (IS) from the Syrian-Lebanon border area, said a commander with the Hezbollah on condition of anonymity.

The battle, started on July 21, was capped when the Hezbollah fighters and the Syrian army captured the hilltop of Kirra, which exposed the Nusra militants in both Fleita barrens in Syria and Juroud Arsal in Lebanon, the commander added.

"The level of coordination and harmony between the Syrian army and Hezbollah is high," he said.

He said both allies aim to clear the border area in Syria and Lebanon from Nusra and IS, adding that there is a small area under IS control on the borders that is completely besieged.

The battle on the Syrian side of the borders was completed, while in Lebanon, a deal between Hezbollah and the Nusra militants was made for the evacuation of the Syrian militants from Lebanon to the insurgent-held areas in northern Syria, mainly the northwestern province of Idlib.

The evacuation was initially scheduled for Monday, but was delayed due to complications in the negotiations, which were later resolved.

As many as 113 busses with Nusra militants and their families onboard started leaving Arsal for Fleita, where they will proceed to Idlib.
