ATHENS, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- Two workers died and five others were injured on Tuesday in an accident at a biological waste management plant in the small town of Skala Laconias in Peloponnese peninsula in southern Greece, Greek national news agency AMNA reported.
The victims were a Bulgarian national, 51, and a Greek national aged 37, according to local authorities who were investigating the cause of the incident.
According to initial information, the two men collapsed with breathing problems during cleaning works at the plant. Two other colleagues aged 22 and 66 respectively who rushed to help, were also transferred to hospital with breathing problems.
AMNA reported the younger man was in critical condition.
Two fire fighters and a police officer who participated in the rescue operation were also taken to hospital with breathing issues, a local hospital announcement said.
