AMMAN, July 31 (Xinhua) -- The Jordanian government on Monday banned the first online gay magazine in this Muslim kingdom, citing license violation.
Mohammad Outishat, director general of Jordan Media Commission, said the magazine is not licensed and "acts in contrary to article 49 of the Press and Publications Law," the official news agency PETRA reported.
Editors of the magazine had negative reactions in the community, claiming they had licensed the magazine dealing with gay affairs, which turned out to be completely untrue, the report said.
The report did not name the magazine, but the first issue of the Jordan-based online gay magazine My.Kali, published in both Arabic and English, first came out in May, 2016.
