Egypt condemns suicide attack against Iraqi embassy in Kabul

CAIRO, July 31 (Xinhua) -- Egypt on Monday strongly condemned a terrorist attack carried out by Islamic State (IS) against the Iraqi Embassy in the Afghan capital, Kabul.

In a press statement, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry affirmed Egypt's full solidarity with Iraq in their war on terrorism.

The terror attack is a desperate attempt by IS following the victories that Iraq has achieved in its war against the terror group, the statement said.

Earlier in the day, Iraqi Foreign Ministry said that two of its embassy employees were killed in a suicide attack outside the Iraqi embassy in Kabul.

IS has claimed responsibility for the attack.
