BERLIN, July 31 (Xinhua) -- Official figures released on Monday indicated that demand for labor in Germany has increased further in July.

The Federal Employment Agency's labor demand index rose to 238 points, 21 points higher than the result measured in July 2016.

According to the Agency, there were hardly any industries which were not looking for qualified staff to fill vacancies. With the exception of the public, education and teaching sector, labor demand was higher in all sectors examined compared to the same month last year.

The number of vacancies grew most in the industrial, retail, construction and corporate service providers, such as tax advisors, lawyers and advertising agencies sectors.

The Agency believes that labor market's current strength can be traced to Germany's lasting economic momentum. Growing numbers of employees were also willing to change jobs in the hope of finding better paid positions as a consequence.

The official figures showed that more Germans were in work in June 2017 than at any point since country's reunification in 1990.

Eurostat data released Monday also suggested that German inflation remained stable at 1.5 percent in July.
