KUNSHAN, China, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Angola beat Team Blue of the Chinese men's basketball national team 73-65 for the second straight game at the 2017 Kunshan Men's International Basketball Championship here on Sunday.
Carlos Morais hit 6 of 8 3-pointers to lead Angola with a game-high 20 points, Reggie Moore and Yanick Moreira each scored 15 points. China's Zhou Peng contributed 19 points and Guo Ailun had 13 points and 7 turnovers.
"Our players were lack of passion due to the fatigue, I noticed it during the warm-up. We missed too many open shots and free throws, and they also outrebounded us 40-31," said Du Feng, head coach of the Team Blue.
China only made 3 of 17 3-point attempts while Angola buried 11 to dominate the game.
After two teams tied in the first quarter, Angola went on a 11-1 run to lead 32-23, but Han Dejun made two three-point play in a row to help China cut the deficit to 32-36 before the halftime. Then Morais took over the game, hitting four 3-pointes to give Angola the largest lead of 45-33 in the third quarter.
Angola led 56-47 after three quarters. China cut it to five with 35 seconds to play, but only saw Moreira secure the victory with a buzzer beater 3-pointer. Enditem
