SARAJEVO, July 29 (Xinhua) -- The Federal Hydrometeorological Institute of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FHMZ BiH) issued an orange warning Saturday afternoon as a heat wave caused temperatures to soar to 41 degrees Celsius on Sunday.
The maximum daily air temperatures will range between 32 and 39 degrees Celsius, in north and south of BiH will reach 41 degrees Celsius.
The Federal Hydro meteorological Institute of BiH issued an orange warning for the whole BiH for the period between July 30 and August 6 between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. due to high day air temperatures and a very high UV index.
Until Sunday evening, throughout the country, sun and heat dominate with a high UV index between 8 and 10. On Sunday afternoon, 34 degrees Celsius are measured in Mostar, some 120 kilometers south from BiH's capital Sarajevo.
During the major part of July, the Institute has issued an orange alert and advised residents not to expose themselves to the direct sun rays. The high temperatures, caused by hot air, also affected some other Balkan countries in July.
