MADRID, July 28 (Xinhua) -- Spain's consumer prices rose by 1.5 percent in June when compared with the same month of a year earlier, according to advanced data of the Consumer Price Index (CPI), Spain's Statistical Office (INE) reported on Friday.

The figure is the same as the one reported in June, when consumer prices had also risen 1.5 percent. The INE said the figure is the result of stable prices of food and non alcoholic drinks, adding that prices of fuels decreased less in July this year than in the same month of 2016.

Spain's consumer prices have been rising for 11 consecutive months on a year-on-year basis after having registered negative rates for eight months in a row.

On a month-to-month basis, prices fell by 0.7 percent from June to July, the INE said, which will confirm this data at the beginning of August when it will provide more detailed information about the evolution of prices. Enditem
