TOKYO, July 27 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks rose moderately Thursday morning as investor sentiment was lifted following the release of some firms' earning reports showing robust profits for the April-June period.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 43.25 points, or 0.22 percent, from Wednesday to 20,093.41.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 6.35 points, or 0.39 percent, to 1,627.23.
Real estate, air transportation and food-linked stocks comprised those that gained the most by the morning break.
