LONDON, July 26 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Wednesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.24 percent, or 17.50 points, to close at 7,452.32 points.
British media company ITV soared 2.44 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Anglo American and Barratt Developments increased by 2.01 percent and 1.91 percent respectively.
The large British bookmaking business Paddy Power Betfair was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 2.95 percent. British pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline dropped 2.55 percent, while software company Sage Group fell 1.21 percent. Enditem
