BRUSSELS, July 26 (Xinhua) -- The European Commission outlined radicalization and cyber crime as the evolving security threats to be addressed in a report on Wednesday.

The report is the ninth in a series of monthly reports on progress made towards a Security Union, according to a Commission statement.

To address the challenges, the Commission is continuously analyzing the need to establish a high level expert group on radicalization.

In the coming months, the Commission will also review the EU's cyber security strategy to provide an up-to-date response to the growing threat of cyber crime.

The report, published Wednesday, also highlights the steps taken to prevent terrorist financing and improve the interoperability of EU information systems.

European Commissioner for Migration Dimitris Avramopoulos said: "In this rapidly changing security environment, we must intensify our efforts to deliver on all essential elements and work swiftly to achieve a genuine and effective Security Union."
