Peaty breaks men's 50m breaststroke world record at World Championships

BUDAPEST, July 25 (Xinhua) -- Britain's swimmer Adam Peaty broke men's 50m breaststroke world record with 26.10 seconds in heats of the 17th FINA World Championships here on Tuesday.

The previous world record of 26.42 seconds was also set by Peaty at worlds two years ago in Kazan.

Peaty claimed 100m breaststroke title in the Hungarian capital, breaking the championships record twice, in semifinals and final respectively.
