ADDIS ABABA, July 24 (Xinhua) -- Ethiopian President, Mulatu Teshome, has called on further strengthening partnership with Czech Republic, with due emphasis given to the economic sector.

The president made the remarks in his meeting with a delegation from Czech Republic, led by Marian Jurecka, Czech Minister of Agriculture, in Ethiopia's capital Addis Ababa on Monday.

Discussing about ways of strengthening bilateral ties among the two countries, especially in the economic sphere, Teshome has invited Czech private investors to consider investment opportunities that are put in place in the east African country.

"There are ample opportunities in terms of huge market and working places available for companies to come and invest here," the president affirmed, adding that "Ethiopia will provide all the necessary support for Czech companies to invest in the country."

The two countries have also agreed to work in partnership in other sectors, such as infrastructure development and partnerships in the agriculture sector.

Noting Czech companies' experience in leather, cement and glass production and development, Teshome also stressed that private investors from the European nation could become successful in Ethiopia's various investment areas.

Jurecka, on his part, stressed Ethiopia's ample investment potential for Czech companies to come to invest in Africa's second most populous nation. He also affirmed that he has discussed with Ethiopian officials on a number of issues, which include protection and promotion of the investment landscape in the country.

The minister of agriculture also lauded Ethiopia's potential with regards to foreign market opportunities, saying that the east African country "has enormous export potential."

Jurecka also revealed that a number of companies from Czech Republic have developed interest to work together with their Ethiopian counterparts, through joint-venture opportunities, in areas such as infrastructure and agriculture.
