HOUSTON, July 23 (Xinhua) -- A Walmart supermarket store in north Houston was evacuated Sunday morning after reports of an armed man holding hostage inside, no suspect was found.
Local TV reported that police searched the store after a shopper reported to police seeing someone with a gun inside the Walmart store, allegedly attempting to rob customers. According to police, the witness reported seeing someone point a gun at another customer.
Officers were also looking through surveillance camera footage for any evidence of an armed suspect.
The all-clear has been given, but police has not found any suspect. People were allowed back into the store later.
At least five patrol vehicles were parked outside the store when police searched inside, said the report.
