DAMASCUS, July 23 (Xinhua) -- The al-Qaida-linked Nusra Front took over the city of Idlib in northern Syria on Sunday, following infighting with a rival militant group, pan-Arab al-Mayadeen TV reported.
The Nusra Front, or the Front for Liberating the Levant, took over Idlib after battles with the Ahrar al-Sham movement, said the report.
Infighting between both groups has recently flared in Idlib, which is now largely under Nusra's control after Ahrar al-Sham's reported withdrawal from the city. Enditem
