RIYADH, July 21 (Xinhua) -- Saudi Arabia announced on Friday the death of three fugitives in clashes with security forces in Qatif region in the Eastern Province, Al Arabiya local news reported.
The militants opened fire at the police when they were spotted in a stolen vehicle with fake number plates. The Saudi interior ministry said the men were involved in terrorist operations, including the killing of security men.
More than 22 attacks have taken place in Qatif since last March, making it the scene of extensive security operations where security personnel lost their lives.
