HONG KONG, July 21 (Xinhua) -- The first Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo opened Friday, with more than 40 events being held, providing a fun summer activity for all ages in Hong Kong.
The five-day expo, held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center, featured about 90 exhibitors from Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland, Japan and South Korea, showcasing a broad selection of sports and leisure products and services from around 130 brands.
Under the theme "Stadium Live", the expo included six specialized zones: Outdoor Adventure, Sports Hub, Health & Fitness, Photography World, Fun & Play, and Handicraft Market, providing Hong Kong citizens, especially the teenagers, with trendy sports products and inspiring handicraft.
The exhibitors offered product trials and free experiential activities, including rock-climbing, indoor cycling challenge and virtual reality workshops.
Besides dynamic training exercises, the expo will also invite several local elite athletes to share their sport career and mental stories.
The expo, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, was held concurrently with the 28th Hong Kong Book Fair, meant to encourage interactions between reading and sports.
