LA PAZ, July 20 (Xinhua) -- Bolivia's anti-drug trafficking police force (FELCN) seized one ton of cocaine during an operation in the northern area of Baures, Interior Minister Carlos Romero announced Thursday.

"It is calculated that the value of the drugs would reach 10 million U.S. dollars in the Brazilian market," Romero told the press in the city of Trinidad, capital of the department of Beni, where the drugs were found.

According to the FELCN, the drugs were already prepared in bricks, with 60 percent of it in a purified state and 40 percent in the drug's base form.

Besides the drugs, a small plane and weapons were seized, although there was no mention of anyone being arrested. They also reported that a clandestine airstrip and a large drug processing center were found.

The director-general of the FELCN, Santiago Delgadillo, said the operation was the result of a rigorous investigation with "important" information received from intelligence services.

"The information shared by the intelligence (services) served to plan the successful operation. We entered the mountain with the help of Los Diablos Negros (The Black Devils, an air force brigade)," explained Delgadillo.
