BRUSSELS, July 19 (Xinhua) -- The European Commission on Wednesday expressed "grave concern" for "the clear risks for the independence of the judiciary" in Poland after a series of legislative acts were proposed.
By the Commission's own account, if implemented in their current form, these laws would have a very significant negative impact on the independence of the judiciary and would threaten the rule of law in Poland.
