TOKYO, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks reversed earlier losses to rise moderately Wednesday morning and reclaim the 20,000 mark as investor sentiment was bolstered by positive expectations for upcoming quarterly corporate earnings this month.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average edged up 21.58 points, or 0.11 percent, from Tuesday to 20,021.49.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, rose 2.72 points, or 0.17 percent, to 1,623.20.
Fishery, agriculture and forestry, communication and information, and food-linked issues comprised those that advanced the most by the morning break.
