THE HAGUE, July 13 (Xinhua) -- The Dutch National Coordinator for Security and Counterterrorism (NCTV) has no indication of a terrorist attack during the forthcoming women's European championships in the Netherlands, the NCTV reported on Thursday.

"The message that appeared in the media on Wednesday, July 12, was a call for an attack and no announcement of an attack," NCTV said. "At this time, the NCTV has not received any signals that this call is being followed by an attack. If these signals change, we communicate on that and other measures will be taken."

The intelligence group Search for International Terrorist Entities (SITE) on Wednesday reported that Islamic State (IS) has urged lone wolves to attack the Galgenwaard Stadium in the Dutch city of Utrecht at the time of a Women's Euro 2017 match between England and Scotland on July 19.

"We cannot overlook the call because it can also bring ideas to others," the NCTV added. "People should feel safe to visit the tournament. Therefore, in consultation with the host cities and the Dutch football association KNVB, measures are taken throughout the tournament, from visible presence of police and sharp access controls around stadiums."

On Wednesday night Dick Schoof, the National Coordinator for Security and Counterterrorism, already urged people to stay calm after the report of an IS attack. "We are now in a situation where other people can be given ideas," Schoof said in the television talk show RTL Late Night. "Calmness is incredibly important in how to react, to prevent panic and fear."

The NCTV ended their statement on Thursday by saying that it is safe for everyone to visit the tournament.
