VIENNA, July 11 (Xinhua) -- The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) on Tuesday is trying to find an agreement among members on who are the right people for key positions in the organization.

The OSCE is looking for a successor for its former Secretary-General Lamberto Zannier of Italy who left office in June. There are also other key positions that are vacant.

Austrian Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz, who is the acting chair of the organization, said he was very optimistic a solution would be found.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is also seen playing a key role in the meetings.

Kurz told a press meeting that his Russian counterpart was playing a constructive part in the process, saying that common strategies on fighting terrorism and extremism were needed, because all countries were threatened.
