TOKYO, July 11 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened fractionally higher Tuesday as the U.S. Dow Jones Industrial Average's decline overnight sparked selling here, although losses were offset by buying supported by a comparatively weak yen against the U.S. dollar.

As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average edged up 10.22 points, or 0.05 percent, from Monday to 20,091.20.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, inched 0.68 point, or 0.04 percent higher, to 1,616.16.

Oil and coal product, and mining issues comprised issues that gained the most during the first 15 minutes after the opening bell.

Real estate and marine transportation issues led those that declined the most.
