LONDON, July 10 (Xinhua) -- Around 1.3 million citizens of the eight European Union members from east Europe lived in Britain during 2013 to 2015, compared to just 14,000 British people living in the so-called EU8 countries, a report revealed Monday.

The figures were revealed in the latest report from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) on migration between Poland, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Estonia and Latvia and Britain.

The figures showed more than 100 times more EU8 citizens living in Britain, compared to British people living in those eight nations.

The overwhelming majority of EU8 citizens in Britain were of working age.

The largest national group of the 1.3 million EU8 citizens, were the 813,000 from Poland, the largest population from any country outside of Britain.

Almost a third of the EU8 citizens in Britain were employed in elementary occupations, mostly in distribution, hotels and restaurants, and manufacturing.

Over 40 percent of the British people in EU8 countries lived in the Czech Republic, according to figures from Eurostat, the European statistics agency.

Emma Rourke, ONS Director for Public Policy and Analysis, said:"This report adds to the complex picture of migration across the EU. It shows how the population profile among migrant populations compares, and often differs markedly in age make-up, with the overall population of the host countries. This has clear implications for future policy-making across a range of areas."
