BRATISLAVA, July 7 (Xinhua) -- Slovakia will help Montenegro with tax reform and offered its expertise in the management of public finances, Slovak Finance Minister Peter Kazimir announced on Friday after returning from the visit to Montenegro.

"When the size of the country is taken into the equation, Montenegro is in a similar position, so it's only natural that our colleagues from there take an interest in Slovakia's experience," said Kazimir.

Building on links that go back seven years, Slovak experts are helping their Montenegrin colleagues to enhance accounting and reporting in the public sector and support their transition to the accrual accounting system.

The Slovak ministry has previously helped build Montenegro's capacities in macroeconomic and fiscal forecasts, economic analyses and in methods of the European System of Accounts.

"We are committed to establishing long-term relationships with its partners and developing targeted collaboration that yields tangible results. To this end, it is deploying a tailor-made model of cooperation and is focusing primarily on ties with high added value," added Kazimir.
