MANILA, July 7 (Xinhua) -- Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte continues to enjoy a "record-high" net public satisfaction rating, an independent survey said on Friday.

The Social Weather Station (SWS) survey, conducted from June 23 to 26 among 1,200 respondents, said that 78 percent of the surveyed were satisfied with Duterte's performance. Only 12 percent were dissatisfied and 10 percent were undecided, it said.

The survey was conducted a month after Duterte imposed martial law on Mindanao in the wake of the May 23 attack of militants allied with Islamic State (IS) in the southern Philippine city of Marawi.

Duterte's spokesman, Ernesto Abella, said, "The survey result is a clear indication of the growing confidence in the chief executive and his performance as the country's leader."

"The positive acknowledgement of the Filipino people further motivates the (Duterte) administration to work for the restoration of normalcy in Marawi and to start its rehabilitation as well as bring a comfortable life for all Filipinos, including Muslim Filipinos," he added.

The searing 46-day conflict in Marawi has displaced the city's more than 200,000 residents. Some parts of the city were leveled following airstrikes from government security forces. So far 479 people have been killed, including 353 terrorists, 39 civilians, and 87 soldiers and policemen.
