WINDHOEK, July 5 (Xinhua) -- The Association of Chinese Enterprises in Namibia (ACEN) on Wednesday donated stationery and goods worth about 1,400 U.S. dollars to the SOS Children's Village in Namibia's capital Windhoek.

The donation was handed at an event by Ren Panpan, secretary general of the association, in the presence of the SOS officials, children as well as other members of the Chinese community.

At the handover event, Ren said their association is willing to take social responsibility, especially in helping the poor children and orphans.

Finance Manager of SOS Village Namibia Eric Kaela thanked the assistance from the association and said they have opened up the doors for future cooperation.

The SOS Children's Villages began its work in Windhoek in 1985 to help vulnerable children and currently has three villages in Namibia, while ACEN is a non-profit social organization that was established in June 2015.

According to Ren ACEN was initiated by Chinese-funded enterprises registered in economic and commercial counsellor's office of the Chinese Embassy and currently has more than 50 members in Namibia.
