Chinese shares close lower Tuesday

BEIJING, July 4 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.41 percent to close at 3182.8 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.57 percent lower at 10474.83 points. The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, was down 0.35 percent to close at 1829.51 points.
