LONDON, July 3 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Monday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.88 percent, or 64.37 points, to close at 7,377.09 points.
Glencore, an international commodity trading and mining company, soared 5.01 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Rio Tinto and Anglo American by 4.09 percent and 4.00 percent, respectively.
The British sub-prime lender Provident Financial was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 2.67 percent. Micro Focus International, a British software and information technology business, dropped 1.85 percent. The British financial service company Hargreaves Lansdown fell 1.61 percent. Enditem
