Backgrounder: Makeup of Serbia's new cabinet

BELGRADE, June 29 (Xinhua) -- The new cabinet of Serbia, presided by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, first woman PM who replaced Aleksandar Vucic at the helm of the government, was endorsed by the country's parliament on Thursday.

The new government will have 18 ministries and four deputy prime minister posts, which will be performed by the same ministers as before.

Government will have two new ministries -- Ministry of Environmental Protection and Ministry of European integration. Same as before, the government will have three ministers without portfolios.

All of the ministers kept their positions comparing to the former government led by the new president of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, who resigned at the end of May to become president following April 2 elections.

The following are the makeup of the cabinet:

- Ivica Dacic, first deputy PM and minister of foreign affairs;

- Nebojsa Stefanovic, deputy PM and minister of interior affairs;

- Zorana Mihajlovic, deputy PM and minister of construction, transport and infrastructure;

- Rasim Ljajic, deputy PM and minister of trade, tourism and telecommunications.

The cabinet will also include three new names:

- Branko Ruzic was sworn in as minister of public administration and local self-government;

- Goran Trivan was sworn in as minister of environmental protection;

- Nenad Popovic was sworn in as minister without portfolio.

Other cabinet members kept their posts, including:

- Goran Knezevic, minister of economy;

- Nela Kuburovic, minister of justice;

- Mladen Sarcevic, minister of education, science and technological development;

- Branislav Nedimovic, minister of agriculture, forestry and water management;

- Vladan Vukosavljevic, minister of culture and media;

- Milan Krkobabic, minister without portfolio;

- Slavica Djukic Dejanovic, minister without portfolio;

- Aleksandar Antic, minister of energy and mining;

- Vanja Udovicic, minister of youths and sport;

- Dusan Vujovic, minister of finance;

- Zlatibor Loncar, minister of health;

- Jadranka Joksimovic, minister of European integration.

Two ministers switched posts between themselves:

- Zoran Djordjevic, new minister of labor, employment, veteran and social policy;

- Aleksandar Vulin, new minister of defense.
