BELGRADE, June 29 (Xinhua) -- Final results of the snap elections in Kosovo on Thursday confirmed a tight victory of the former ruling coalition around Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) over two lower ranked parties -- Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and Vetevendosje (Self-Determination).

Final results presented by the Central Election Commission (CEC) at a press conference at Pristina showed that coalition around PDK, which also includes the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA), led by the former leader of the Kosovo Liberation, Army Ramush Haradinaj, won 33.74 percent of votes.

The second ranked is the radical nationalist opposition party, Vetevendosje, with 27.49 percent, while the third place goes to the coalition around the LDK, former partner of PDK in the former government, with 25.53 percent of votes.

The fourth is the Serbian List, with 6.12 percent, while remaining participants have all together gathered less than 6 percent.

Noting that elections were conducted in accordance with international standards, chairman of CEC Valdete Daka announced that starting from now on, the 24-hour deadline begins for political entities and candidates to file complaints to the Election Complaints and Appeals Panel.

After that, the results will be certified, enabling parliament of 120 MPs to be constituted and to elect the new government.

The elections were triggered by a motion of no confidence on May 10, which was proposed by the Initiative for Kosovo, a coalition partner of the PDK, over Prime Minister Isa Mustafa's failure to fulfil promises made during the previous election campaign held in June 2014.

According to the data provided by CEC, around 750,000 people or 41 percent out of 1.88 million registered voters turned out to cast their ballots on June 11 and choose among 26 political entities -- 5 coalitions, 19 political parties and 2 civic initiatives.
