STOCKHOLM, June 27 (Xinhua) -- French and Swedish police made a joint raid in Huddinge, south of the Swedish capital of Stockholm, against one piracy site on Tuesday.

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of copyright infringement and money laundering, according to Sweden's Daily News (DN) reported.

While unknown to most Swedes, the "T411" site is famous for being one of France's biggest file-sharing sites. Two years ago the site was pointed out as one of the worst pirating websites in a report by the U.S. government, DN reported.

Swedish and French police arrested two people suspected of being the masterminds behind the French site. They were arrested in Huddinge Municipality, south of Stockholm.

"This is an ongoing operation that I am heading up together with French agencies," District Prosecutor Henrik Rasmusson with the International Prosecutor's Office in Stockholm told DN.

In addition, police have raided a Swedish hosting company from which the site has been administered, the report said.

According to DN sources, police arrested a couple, two Ukrainian citizens in their thirties. But Rasmussen would not confirm these details, the paper reported.

"I can confirm that the two people being held are not Swedish citizens. They have residency permits," he said, adding, "A parallel operation is being conducted in France. Our investigation will focus on questioning these people and handing over evidence to the French agencies."
