Tripoli, June 27 (Xinhua) -- A Libyan young man on Tuesday burned himself in the Martyrs' Square in central Tripoli.
According to Tripoli hospital, the young man, named Abu-Alqasem, is 28 years old. He is in critical condition, with burns covering neary all of his body.
Social media posted a video clip showing Abu-Alqasem setting himself alight in the center of Martyrs Square, while another man trying to extinguish the fire.
Social media said the young man burnt himself in protest against his poor living conditions.
