Three executed for transporting methamphetamine in south China

GUANGZHOU, June 25 (Xinhua) -- Three people had been executed for drug trafficking in south China ahead of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26.

The three were executed on June 22, according to the intermediate people's court of Huizhou, Guangdong Province.

The three were arrested separately by police during 2013 and 2014, the court said.

Police found over 10 kilograms of methamphetamine in one convict's car in 2013, which he was about to take to Guangzhou, the provincial capital.

Another rented an apartment to store drugs in Huidong county where police seized over 23 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.

The third was caught in 2014 on an expressway to Guangzhou and attempted to bribe the police officer. A total of 7.4 kilograms of crystal meth was found in his car.

The sentences had been approved by the Supreme People's Court of China.
