6.8-magnitude quake hits 23km SW of Puerto San Jose, Guatemala -- USGS

BEIJING, June 22 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale jolted 23 km southwest of Puerto San Jose, Guatemala at 1231 GMT on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 46.82 km, was initially determined to be at 13.7527 degrees north latitude and 90.9488 degrees west longitude.
