TOKYO, June 21 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks lost ground Wednesday morning as a weak tone set by Wall Street overnight coupled with the yen's rise against the U.S. dollar saw investors opt for profits after the market's recent rally.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 46.51 points, or 0.23 percent, from Tuesday to 20,183.90.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, dropped 2.05 points, or 0.13 percent, to 1,615.20.

Mining, securities and nonferrous metal-linked stocks comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
