ALGIERS, June 19 (Xinhua) -- Algeria on Monday sent 30 tons of humanitarian aid to the neighbouring nation of Libya, Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The aids consist of food stuffs and of food and pharmaceuticals, as they were sent to the border municipalities of Ghat, Oubari and Ghadames, specified the source.

The freight was transferred and delivered in consultation and coordination with legitimate Libyan authorities, said the statement, adding that "This new initiative demonstrates Algeria's solidarity with the Libyan people, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, and its ongoing efforts to help this brotherly and neighboring country to overcome the crisis it has been facing for years."

Algeria further reiterated its commitment "to continue its efforts with all Libyan warring parties, while encouraging and accompanying them to reach sustainable political resolution, through inclusive inter-Libyan dialogue and national reconciliation, in a bid to safeguard the territorial integrity of the country and the unity of its people," concluded the statement.
