HOUSTON, June 18 (Xinhua) -- Power has been cut off in some parts of the great Houston area caused by bird, local power company said Sunday.
A spokesperson with Texas New Mexico Power Company said about 8900 homes and businesses in the southeaster paty of the city are without power.
It is believed the outage is from a bird getting into a substation.
Texas New Mexico Power has crews working in the affected areas and power is expected to be back on by 6 p.m. local time, said the company.
