LISBON, June 15 (Xinhua) -- Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa expressed solidarity with the Portuguese victims of the fire at Grenfell Tower in London on Thursday.
"It is a complicated situation which has stabilised, but is still complicated. What we hope is that (people's) state of health will evolve favorably," Rebelo de Sousa told journalists in Porto, northern Portugal, according to Lusa news agency.
The death toll in the fire that engulfed the 24-story building has risen to 17, and firefighters are still searching for victims.
The tragedy has caused the British authorities to open an investigation and to review safety conditions at large buildings across the country.
