Macron and his spouse, Brigitte Macron, were welcomed by Morocco's King Mohammed VI and Princess Lala Salma at Rabat Airport.

The two sides will hold official talks during the visit, according to the Moroccan Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery.

Other international issues of common interest are also expected during Macron's first visit in the Maghreb region and the second to an African country after his trip to Mali, including GCC rift, the situation in Libya and counterterrorism efforts.

The two-day visit reflects the depth of bilateral relations based on a solid and strong partnership, the same source added.
