PM of Montenegro visits army barracks in Danilovgrad

BELGRADE, June 14 (Xinhua) -- Prime Minister of Montenegro Dusko Markovic on Wednesday visited the Milovan Saranovic army barracks in Danilovgrad, a town in the central part of the country.

The prime minister, accompanied by Defense Minister Predrag Boskovic, said some members of the army of Montenegro has spent some time in one of the international missions and operations,, adding that "it is a valuable experience for our army."

"You were the first to open the doors of the Alliance to Montenegro," Markovic told the army staff, praising the "readiness, the level of training and determination of the Montenegrin army shown" in peacekeeping missions.

He stressed that the army made a huge contribution to achieve the country's strategic national objective of joining NATO and "bringing the country closer to the most powerful countries."

"The effort was worth the results, because Montenegro permanently ensured its independence, peace and stability for its citizens and all the assumptions to direct the entire social energy towards economic progress and creation of conditions for better life of citizens," Markovic said. Enditem
