TIRANA, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Albania's President-elect and former head of co-ruling Socialist Movement for Integration (SMI) Ilir Meta warned Tuesday not to decree a new cabinet if free vote in June 25 general elections is not guaranteed.

"On June 25, we will vote on a historic change to progress in the future 20 years not to regress back 20 years," Meta told a press release in SMI headquarters.

"Whoever tampers the free vote will neither be decreed as prime minister nor as minister, since decrees will occur through a fair electoral process," Meta warned.

While calling on citizens to vote freely and uninfluenced, Meta noted that the country needs a quiet and democratic electoral process.
