PARIS, June 11 (Xinhua) -- President Emmanuel Macron's party "The Republic On The Move" (LREM) and its ally MoDem took the lead in the first round of French legislative election on Sunday.

LREM and its ally led the vote with 32.2 percent, ahead of the conservative and centrist allies who won 21.5% percent of the vote, according to projections of Ipsos.

According to the Kantar Sofres-onepoint estimate made for French newspaper Le Figaro, LREM and MoDem is likely to obtain between 400 and 440 seats in the 577-seat National Assembly, securing a landslide majority.

Such a result is set to bolster Macon's chances of implementing wide-ranging reforms, according to projections by polling agencies.

The second and final round of French legislative election will be held on June 18. Enditem
