SOFIA, June 9 (Xinhua) -- The pilot of the Bulgarian Navy helicopter AS 565MB Panther, which crashed into the Black Sea on Friday, has passed away in the hospital, the Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
The other two crew members, who were injured in the accident, are now taken for treatment at the Naval Hospital in Varna, and are in good condition, the ministry said.
According to the ministry, the accident occurred around 12:30 pm local time, seven nautical miles east of the Kamchia River mouth, after the helicopter conducted artillery firing against a surface target during the tactical exercise "Black Sea -- 2017".
