CAIRO, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Egypt strongly condemned Wednesday's twin terrorist attacks in Iran that left dozens killed and injured, Egyptian foreign ministry said on Thursday.
The ministry said in a statement that Egypt condemns in the strongest terms the terrorist attacks in Iran, calling on the international community to increase efforts to fight terrorism and weaken its sources of support.
Suicide bombers and gunmen attacked the Iranian parliament and Ayatollah Khomeini's mausoleum in Tehran on Wednesday, killing at least 17 people and wounding 52 others, according to Iran's Interior Ministry.
The Islamic State (IS) terrorist group claimed responsibility for its first-ever attacks in Iran.
